Outstanding characteristics
The Tan Son Nhat Golf Course, situated just 4 kilometers away from the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, is a well-liked public golf course in Saigon. Spanning across an area of 156 hectares, this 36-hole course is adjacent to the Tan Son Nhat Airport, which happens to be Vietnam's busiest airport.
Nelson & Haworth Golf Course Architects created an exceptional golf course by utilizing the relatively flat land in the area. Each hole is characterized by prominent earth mounds, numerous water hazards, spacious bunkers, and gently rolling greens. The tees, fairways, roughs, and greens are covered with Paspalum turf to ensure excellent playing conditions throughout the year. The Saigon golf course features a contemporary urban design, offering views of Vietnam's bustling cityscape from almost every hole.
The clubhouse at Tan Son Nhat is among the biggest in Asia and has the capacity to host golfers as well as large gatherings such as banquets, weddings, and official events for up to 5,000 people simultaneously. The restaurant located on-site offers delicious Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, and western cuisine at affordable prices. Korean dishes are particularly highlighted as their specialties. An intriguing aspect of Tan Son Nhat is its night golf facility. Golfing activities continue past midnight, providing an excellent opportunity to resolve wagers or serve as an alternative recreational option.
The Tan Son Nhat Golf Club offers excellent amenities such as a pro shop, driving range, chipping and putting areas, locker rooms, and changing areas. It operates under the supervision of the Vietnam Ministry of Defense. Golf carts are required and limited to designated paths only. However, the prices are reasonable, and golfers have the option to walk on the fairways while caddies drive. The caddies themselves are male army recruits who provide great service but have some limitations.
